So what is thewhiskycask.com all about, I hear you ask. Well, like all good stories, it starts in a pub. This particular pub was in Brussels, at a conference for geeks (FOSDEM, for those in the know). Geeks and beer... Dangerous combination! One of the party this night involved the webmaster of thebeercrate.com who told us that he was wanting to learn more about whisky. The 2 of us in the party who have both been involved in whisky societies thought it would be A Good Idea(tm) to do a site similar to The Beer Crate, but focusing on whisky.
Unlike more ideas that start in a pub, this one didn't get forgotten about; and so The Whisky Cask was born.
